Donna, making sure her new running shoes match her new running shirt. The reason I mentioned irony is because this photo was taken right after we picked up some donuts for dessert, and right before we picked up our Chinese take-out for dinner. We've got a lot of running to do!
Nothing substantial here... Nothing more than mutterings and ramblings and little snapshots from our everyday life.

Buddy-proof
Given the demise of my Nikon P300, I started looking for a 'Buddy-proof' camera and found this bad boy today - drop proof, water proof, freeze proof (never plan to test that feature), dust proof, sand proof and most importantly, I'm hoping Buddy proof. It's a camera that's never been on my radar because I had never heard of it before.
Still upset
Buddy, mom ain't awake yet and I'm still too upset with you to take you for a walk, so if you gotta 'go' you're gonna have to do it in your back yard.
He doesn't seem to be catching on.

Death of a Nikon P300
Five days a week, I leave for work around 6:50am and get home around 6:30pm. As soon as I get home, it's time to take Buddy for a walk. Get home from the walk and it's 7:30-8pm and dinner time. Watch a little tv, unwind, clean up, get ready for work the next day, and the day is over. I do manage to take about 1/2 second to do something I really enjoy - hitting that shutter button while walking Buddy.
Tonight, taking that 1/30th of a second to myself proved to be a huge mistake - Buddy yanked on his leash and spun my wrist so quickly, I dropped my $325 Nikon P300. The lens was extended and it landed right on the tip of the lens.
It's gonna take a while to forgive him for this one and I'm already contemplating leaving him at home all weekend and enjoying a little life without 'em.

Whoa!
Buddy met his first "Joe" this morning during a walk with Donna. Not quite as big as his cousin Joe, but still...
Creatures of habit
Something about this scene seems very familiar to me, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Buddy... out cold
I'm the go to guy for playing and rough-housing, but when Buddy is ready to chill, nothing calms him more than laying up against Donna.
Still amazed
I continue to be amazed by the iPhone 4S and it's much improved camera. It handles low-light photography so much better than previous iPhones. This is a scene I walk by almost every morning as I head to the Starbucks across the street. Despite how bright it appears to be, the parking lot lights are actually quite dim.

Wildwood Park
We took a trail we've never hiked or ridden in Wildwood Park and happened across this rather scenic view.

Goodbye blue sky
A marine layer is heading in this evening and I'm hoping it's gone by time I wake up in the morning - another day of blue sky would be wonderful.

Buuuurrp
Donna, hangin' with Buddy after his breakfast, waiting for him to release his traditional two burps, before she lets him start running around or playing.
Long days
Starting the day at 5:30am has been quite a challenge, but Donna has really stuck with it and powered through, in the interest of getting Buddy out for at least a 45 minute walk every morning. Of course she checks her email, etc. via her phone before heading out.

Yawn
Kind'a hard to tell who's more tired. Even worse is that this was taken during a lunch-break trip to home, not in the evening.

Thursday night lights
I'm trying to appreciate darkness, because there's a lot of it ahead. The worst part is that I've got this new iPhone that I've been wanting to shoot pictures with, and no daylight for any shooting. This weekend I'll be hitting the shutter button like crazy. Even in the dark though, it's pretty amazing what the iPhone 4S camera can do.

Crack 'o dawn
I found myself up and around so early this morning that I actually had to wait for the doors to open at the Von's grocery store, so I could get in for my morning cup of Starbuck's.
Creative license
I'm loving the camera on the iPhone 4S and I'm so happy Donna nudged me into the Apple store to get this thing. No, it's not quite as good as an actual camera, but I always have it with me and I can get much more creative with the iPhone than I can with a point-and-shoot. The other upside is that I'm already finding myself shooting and posting more, simply because it's more convenient and less time consuming.
The Samsung TL500 will probably be glued to my side during the weekends but during the week, this iPhone 4S is gonna be perfect for letting me get my creativity fix.
Oh, and about the photo... just a leaf on our front walkway that must have blown in from Colorado.

10pm laughter
One minute I looked over to see Donna and Buddy dozing off on the sofa. The next minute, I hear Donna laughing - turns out Buddy decided to clean a rather sensitive area near Donna's foot - which tickled a bit, to say the least.
A new toy
Me getting an iPhone 4S means Donna has a new (to her) iPhone 4, and so far she's loving it.
The anniversary dinner
We kept postponing getting out for our anniversary dinner, so Monday we headed to PF Chang's, one of our all-time favorites. One dish we can never resist is the Mongolian beef and tonight we added some shrimp & chicken steamed dumplings, Chang's spicy chicken and some beef fried rice.
The real world
Three days off has been nice, but Monday wasn't all fun and games - we had to clean the house, go grocery shopping, get the oil changed and other odds and ends. Buddy kept waiting for Donna to crash on the sofa so he could cuddle with her and take a nap. He ended up waiting a long time.
