Meet our nephew, Joe. He's three years old and weighs 150 pounds.

DADDY'S GONNA KILL RALPHIE

Who knew that the house from "A Christmas Story" is in Cleveland, OH! I think it looks even nicer than it did in the 1983 film.

You know that cloud that follows you around when you're having a bad day? I found it drifting over Kansas today.

MOVING DAY: PART I

MOVING DAY: PART I by BroAndDonna
MOVING DAY: PART I, a photo by BroAndDonna on Flickr.

We officially began the process of moving today. By 7:30am I was at the new home with an SUV full of more fragile items to drop off in the garage. Then it was off to U-Haul to pick up the truck and by 9am I was back home. By 10am I had the washer & dryer loaded, the patio furniture, grill, and a variety of other things.

There's one thing I like better than a well-manicured lawn and that's a well-manicured lawn that I don't have to manicure.

NO WONDER SHE'S SO GRUMPY

I got home from work to discover a full 'bowl' of coffee that apparently Donna never got around to drinking this morning. Certainly it explains the mood she was in when she got to work. Lucky for me, Donna never reads this blog.

STARTING FROM SCRATCH

Donna was working late Friday night so I decided to head out for a road ride - nothing big, just the loop we've always referred to as "The short loop." This loop is only about 13 miles but usually takes a little under an hour, thanks to traffic lights and stop signs.

Not far into the ride I began to realize both Donna and I are going to be starting from scratch, in terms of our fitness. Between work, Donna's back injury and the home-buying process, we haven't been riding or exercising nearly as much as we used to - and my body, apparently, has noticed.

The short loop didn't feel very short, to say the least. I think I might be fighting off a sinus infection again, so that might have been part of it, but I can't really blame the pain in my legs on a sinus problem. In just a few weeks we'll be getting back to our usual routine and in the meantime, I'm just trying to live with myself, the way I am.
