STAGE 7: TOUR OF CALIFORNIA

Donna took a day off work so we could go see stage 7 of the 2009 Tour of California - what a blast. Donna jokingly asked if I wanted my picture taken with the Liquigas girls, so I took her up on the offer. Our favorite team was there - Rock Racing! How could you not like a cycling team that has a skull as the dominant part if their logo.

SUCH A 'PRETTY' SPORT

After years of dirty, muddy cycling shoes and hiking boots, it's taking a while to get used to these pretty, white tennis kicks. All I need now is to wear my shirt collar up (my pink shirt that is) and I'd be set. Tennis lessons are going good but they're far more exhausting than I thought they'd be. I've still got my magic touch though.

Donna is such a great actress... like here, acting as if she couldn't totally take Jason out.

OUR NEW HOME... HOPEFULLY

So this is the house we're hoping to move into on April 1! It's a 2 bed 1 bath which will be a challenge since we've grown into a 3 bed 2 bath, but it's $250 less per month and only ONE BLOCK FROM THE BEACH!!! We're waiting to hear if we've got it, an answer we should have by the end if the week. We looked at it Sunday for the second time and got started on the paperwork at the Coffee Bean that afternoon. Time will tell. It would be so great to live by the beach and just one block from the 18-mile bike path that runs up to Ojai.

ANOTHER SATURDAY AT THE BEACH

The rain clouds made for a dramatic sky Saturday afternoon so I spent a few hours driving up and down the coast.

SATURDAY MORNING TOGETHER

Donna and I got out for a nice walk around the neighborhood this morning before she has to get ready for work. Recent rain has made the trails too sloppy for any biking or hiking but we had a great time just talking and being together. We spotted some beautiful flowers along the way and almost snagged a free avocado (those things are expensive). It also gave me a chance to play around with the phone's camera which can really distort things (like Donna's face) when there's some jiggly camera movement! Of course Donna is beautiful enough that she can afford to be distorted a little. Me on the other hand...

WET WEEKEND AHEAD

I can't decide if I'm excited or bummed about the forecast for this
weekend. It's a great excuse to stay home, sleep in and be lazy. On
the other hand, considering I have no time for exercise on week days,
I always look forward to hiking and biking on weekends.

ANOTHER SUNDAY RIDE

Donna and i got in a nice ride to Ojai today - uphill the whole way, lunch in Ojai, then a nice downhill back to Ventura and the coast. We missed the superbowl kickoff but were home in time for the amazing conclusion to the first half.
